The Rosicrucians are cited by Greg LoPiccolo at about the 3:12 mark of this video:

And there are many historical references from the time of the Spanish Inquisition blended in.

thats why i think angelwatch was the best level in T2 becuase of the hidden easter eggs. the whiney son and his mother in the corner, the undead zombie, the gaurd in the window, sneaking up on the infamous arrow fight between gaurds, the gaurd the dissapears behind the door, throwing frogbeasts down to the robots on the streets. the people walking down the streets. the open windows for quick thievery, the rooftops,(please no more truart!)

THX for moving my thread under a topic no one is ever going to look for it, cause the title doesn't give the slightest hint about the content of the thread. wonder why you don't do this with the 20 other far-off similar content topics - thats uncool.

I also loved Angelwatch for the vast amount of exploring you could do... the little side stories like the astronomer's hideout, the necro tower, the armory...

    inspiration

    besides all these themes...
I was very inspired of TMA's robotfaces and also their voices.
So as you know we have a lot of LARPs here in Austria and in also in Germany.
Therefore all my efforts did a lot of steamgadgets as the steambot, steampet and the steamtank. pictures on http://www.myspace.com/denkitom
    Yes the metalfaces are obligate!
So I need not to explane how much I liked oll those mechanized staffers.

Q: Is there a collection of all the TMA builder-homages and citations somewhere in the net?

    Builder, fuel us now!

Are you saying... you're upset the thread went off topic? I guess proselyting isn't a very interesting subject.

That would have been quite funny, wouldn`t it ^^

    its like ToMegaTherion stated.

    @my topic ^^:

thx for the screenies I find it very funny they almost inverted the coloring. Things that where not red became red and the formerl red parts are now black.

    Door: Bam! Bam! Bam!
Citizen opens door and gapes up at robot
Robot: Please be warned.. I am a Child of Karras..
    Citizen: Er, yes?
Robot: Receive unto you this pamphlet
    Citizen: What Why?
Robots bomb throwers start to prime
    Citizen quickly takes pamphlet
Robot: All shall hear the word of Karras [static] Word of Karras
Robot: Father Karras gives his blessing unto this house
    Robot turns and stomps away
