When is it okay to ask?

Since I am new here and some of you have been waiting patiently for a year or so I wanted to find out. When is it okay to ask about a little more DX 3 Info.

Not as close as you might think either.
Why does no one remember this? Why isn't this taught in the schools?

And next Christmas is closer than the Christmas after that, so you couldn't complain about that either! Great....great logic.

Huh? What has logic got to do with the fact that you are taking things too seriously?

I'm just adding a little humour... this place needs it, so loosen your tie a little bit.
Here, have a mince pie, and Merry Christmas to you.

That's like telling a joke and finishing it with, "You can laugh now." Not only does that ruin the joke, but if you have to do that, you can't help but think that either the teller or the recipient is an idiot. Smileys are there for expressing mood. Not to carry a message of any sort. ...Unless it happens to be a smiley with a picket sign.

Ashpolt is even more cynical than I am. Just try to expect his remarks to be sarcastic or downright sardonic. If what he's saying is not sarcastic, you'll know. Trust me.

Expressing the mood is what we were asking for, yes.

Sarcasm isn't a mood. It is a tone which is often marked with intonation, but is typically clear from context. Putting a smiley after it can at best convey that you were in a good mood when writing it, and therefore, probably, meant no offense. Since sarcasm isn't always meant to be offensive, such use of the smiley becomes redundant and does nothing to help understand meaning of the text.

With or without smileys, best we just assume that everyone is in a good mood, and/or is relaying some humour or sarcasm...or whatever. It doesn't matter.
    Now we can move on.

Yeah, I generally try to assume that people say something without intent to offend me. Life's easier that way. Unless they insult my intellect. I take that very seriously.

Why do you take that so seriously? After all, they could be using sarcasm.

I don't know how to reply to that without sounding like the elitist that I am.

Alright. When peasants appear to insult my intelligence, I cannot afford to risk an assumption that it may be a sarcastic comment. A peasant should know his place.

This is how elitist I would like to be, but I rarely pull it off.
