Thread: FFVII Launcher Problems

FFVII Launcher Problems

  1. #26

    More info:

Before I got this error, I got another error that d3dx9_29.dll not found, so...

    1. I download DirectX9 Distribution Package (June 2010) from www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details...
    2. Then extracted it (following to instructions in pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/...)
    3. Find and copy d3dx9_29.dll to C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
    4. Restart the machine

That error is gone and got new error that is described in above post.

  2. #27

Same problem here! Windows 7 x64 Professional.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated

  3. #28

Also stuck at %10. Never had any of these problems with Steam.......

  4. #29

I have the same error at loading 10%, and I can't even login to square via the website, unless I use forgot password and follow the email link to enter my new password, afterwords I am logged into the site, otherwise It says my username is invalid.

I really hope someone fixes this really soon, because I've never had the opportunity to play FF VII before, and was really looking foward to this release.

  5. #30

    same here

  6. #31

Im having the same issue as Samuel. It gets to 10 percent, stops and says I need a working internet connection.

  7. #32

Having same issue with launcher. I'm clicking "Play," it blinks off and the comes up again. FF7 Launcher was given Full access on my Firewall settings. I am uninstalling and reinstalling, but it is taking forever to download this time.

    What a complete drag.

Exclamation Problems of launching the game FF VII

My FFVII launcher is open. Says Play, Achievements, Settings and View Online Profile. I click play and launcher closes for half a second and comes back, no game loads. What is going on?

  9. #34

Yeah. Mine does the same thing. I'm guessing its because the server could be down. which is bull**** since its technically not an Online game. You just have to be online to play.

  10. #35

Everything else seems to connect just fine. This launcher is horrible and have not even had a chance to play since I downloaded yesterday.

  11. #36

I'm having the same problem. The launcher just blinks and nothing happens.

    where is the launcher?

  13. #38

Same problem here. I'm very disappointed at the moment.

  14. #39

I'm also getting the same, running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit

EDIT (Fixed!): So since the launcher wasn't working, I thought I'd try running the executable directly from my Program Files.
I got an error stating d3dx9_29.dll was missing, Googled the file and found it was related to DirectX.
Downloaded and ran the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer and voila, clicking "Play" now works!

Hopefully my fix will help others as well, happy gaming~

Also getting the same issue, got my hopes up too

YES, this worked thank you so much! You guys can download the DirectX installer from here.
    www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details...

  17. #42

    Thank you skousol it worked!

champjss: I tried your method first and then skousol solution and it didn't work. What I did was to delete the d3dx9_29.dll that I copied to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and then run the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer and it worked.

FFVII PC Re-Release - Unable to Launch Game

I was playing the game on launch day no problem. I've now tried to launch it, and when I hit 'Play', the game is just returning to the play button - the game is not launching.

I have tried a full uninstall, redownload and reinstall, and still having the same issue. Other games work fine, so doesn't seem to be a DX Issue.

Below are the three errors generated:
